Overview
Ra-Molopo is situated at Rooiberg, 80 km west from Bela Bela, in the picturesque and malaria-free Waterberg mountains. Ra-Molopo, embracing some 2 000 acres of pristine bushveld, is positioned on the edge of an escarpment. You can expect to be thrilled by panoramic views of wide open expanses fringed by the high rises of the picturesque Waterberg mountain range in the distance.

Ra-Molopo boasts a wide range of accommodation options, from the very upmarket Chapman's Peak Lodge, to the more rustic bush camp. What sets us apart is the fact that we accommodate up to 110 guests. This makes Ra-Molopo the ideal venue for conferences, weddings and other special occasions.

All accommodation is fully equipped for self-catering, although we recommend that you treat yourself to some traditional South African delicacies at the restaurant. The two lodges and bush camp sport their own private splash pools overlooking the landscape, while the chalet guests can enjoy the rock pool and deck area at the restaurant.

Imagine enjoying your breakfast in the shade of a stately marula tree or fine dining under the canopy-like branches of an ancient wild fig tree. Apart from the unique outdoor settings, meals are served in the restaurant at the main complex, seating up to 110 people for a lavish buffet or a la carte-style dining. On sunny days we expand the dining area onto the deck, and evenings are often spent relaxing around the campfire after dinner. The main complex also have a true South African bar where a round of drinks can be enjoyed while watching your favourite sport on a big-screen television.

The Naboom Bush Camp is fully equipped as a conference venue, and will appeal to groups of up to 20 people who desire a slightly more rugged experience, perfect for team building.

Ra-Molopo is home to a variety of game such as giraffe, eland, kudu, waterbuck, zebra and a variety of other antelope and predators like leopard. The prolific bird life will occupy the bird enthusiast for hours on end. Feel free to cast your rod and enjoy a relaxing day of fresh water fishing from one of the large dams on Ra-Molopo. Alternatively you may find solace in simply relaxing by the pool with a drink, enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Guests are welcome to bring their own mountain bikes and fishing equipment or rent the necessary equipment from us. Whatever your preference, your every need will be catered for.

"Relaxing stay"
11 Aug 2014
By Pieter, South Africa
"I recently visited Ra-Molopo over a weekend and stayed in one of the chalets. The road to Ra-Molopo is mostly tarred as long as you don't follow the first board indicating Rooiberg. The last 1.5km of the road to Ra-Molopo is gravel. The chalet was clean, well maintained and covered parking for 2 cars is provided for each chalet. The chalet is a bushveld style double volume grass roof (inside it has a wood ceiling giving it a unique feeling). I felt welcome at Ra-Molopo and would visit again. This lodge is also family-friendly and a nearby golf course will keep golfers busy."

"A relaxing time"

"We arrived at Ra-Molopo Game Lodge on Friday and was warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. Everything that I asked for in correspondence was already organized - I didn't even have to check up on it. We checked into our lovely chalet that was right on the corner with a beautiful view of the bushveld. The chalets is really very well laid out - the verandah especially is fantastic! We enjoyed both our game drives very much. Our game ranger James was a very enjoyable and knowledgable person. He went over and above to ensure that we enjoyed our game drives. With the afternoon drive he took us up the one mountain to enjoy a nice sundowner while overlooking the whole valley. And with the morning drive he did some exceptional 4x4 driving by taking us up on a trail up the other mountain to show us the lion's on one of the neighbouring game farms. Our meals was very well presented and very well prepared - you can definately try their restaurant, and their prices are very reasonable. We would really recommend this place to anybody who wants to escape the noise of the city and just relax. Because that is exactly what we did -underneath the beautiful stars and the sounds of the bushveld at night."
