Overview
Experience European hospitality and personalised service. The perfect getaway destination for honeymooners, holidaymakers and small conferences. The Tuscan-style villa offers luxury accommodation with great sea and mountain views. The pristine Brekfis Bay beach, nature reserve and hiking trails are a stone's throw away.

On the Vermont Guest House sleeps a maximum of 14 people. All rooms have comfortable, extra-length beds and large en-suite bathrooms, while some have balconies with views. Other amenities include the swimming pool, a satellite TV and a beautiful communal living room with a fireplace. The breakfast is delicious and other meals are available on request.

Wheelchair-bound holidaymakers are most welcome as the guest house specialises in wheelchair-adapted facilities such as a lift to the first floor and roll-in shower. The scenic footpaths in Hermanus and Vermont are also wheelchair friendly. A professional tour guide service and transport from the airport is available. We speak Dutch, Afrikaans, English, German and French.

Situated an easy 8 km drive from the bustling Hermanus, lies Vermont, a new and quiet area with beautiful homes, views, beach and walking trails. The pristine Brekfis Bay beach, Vermont Nature Reserve and hiking trails are a pleasure for nature lovers who at night can enjoy the bright stars visible over the area.

Vermont borders on a number of green belts created in an effort to maintain the inherent tranquillity and endemic fynbos and bird life in the area. Vermont serves mainly as a holiday village, its residents making their way here primarily during holiday seasons. The area is well known for the protected milkwood trees which flourish here. A beautiful coastal path stretches from Onrus along the coastline and is known as the Vermont Trail, interspersed with tidal pools and ending at the sand dunes of Brekfis Bay, one of the most undisturbed and child-friendly beaches in the area.

The Vermont Nature Reserve offers a scenic two-hour walk along the coast from Brekfis Bay to Hawston harbour among pristine fields of fynbos - reminding one of the Namaqualand flower season - and is a paradise for birdwatchers.

The Vermont Salt Pan, an ecologically sensitive seasonal body of water that teems with bird life, plays host to a large population of flamingos that come here to breed; their pink wings and long legs against the backdrop of the mountain make a wonderfully scenic moment.

Vermont counts several well-known 4 and 5 Star guest houses which have been hosting hundreds of discerning visitors over the years. Close to Vermont are many shops such as supermarkets, excellent restaurants and cafes to excite and satisfy any cosmopolitan palate, a post office, tourist shops and art galleries situated in nearby Onrus, Sandbaai and Hemel en Aarde.
