A truly unique experience awaits both the keen outdoor enthusiast and the well-primed city slicker, allowing your senses to be remoulded in the absence of the hustle and bustle of daily life. Olievenfontein offers you absolute peace and tranquillity, allowing you an opportunity to relax and rejuvenate while enjoying the great beauty and splendour that Africa has to offer. Guests can sit back and enjoy a good book while listening to the sounds of almost 350 bird species, or watch the various game species on the reserve.

The untamed wilderness and the magnificent wildlife offerings of South Africa will leave you with a lasting impression. A safari at a reserve of this nature makes for an unforgettable family holiday, which is why we offer guests a pleasurable stay with their children. We offer a host of activities which will keep children occupied and entertained while the rains fall, or even just for them to have their own space while staying with us.

"The service throughout our stay was 5 star. The chalet was clean and bug free (for thatch roof) and stunning scenery."

"We had a good experience at Olievenfontein, with great host and hostess. Accommodation was clean and comfortable and there were friendly staff. The reserve is located in a good spot with some nice game viewing. One downfall was the accommodation was not suited to cold weather, and we unfortunately went during a cold front. Also, there could be more facilities / activities (e.g. table tennis, snooker, etc). The dirt road was quite bumpy in spots if you have a normal sedan."

"We had a lovely relaxing stay at Olievenfontein. We stayed in Sable cottage which was neatly appointed and we received cleaning services twice a day which was really fantastic! We enjoyed a lovely game drive and the kids loved running around in the open areas. We felt secure and very comfortable.Only one concern was that the kettle was full of gunk which needs to be cleaned out, possibly even replaced. Never seen a build up like that before. We used a pot to boil out water on the stove.Other than that we were well looked after and even provided with a pot of boiling water for coffee on our last day as the power was out which was very thoughtful and much appreciated!"

"We loved the peace and tranquility of Olievenfontein. Jennifer and Johan made sure we were comfortable and well looked after. Our favourite things were the bush walks we did every day and the boma fire in the evenings under the stars."

"The hosts were wonderful, made us feel at home. The cottage was neat and cleaned everyday. I will definitely go back. Nice views but the weather gets a bit cold in the evenings. Please don't follow the GPS, it leads to a horrible road!"
