Ngama, meaning "Place of the Eagles" is a delightfully intimate, family-run tented safari lodge that offers a true African experience, where guests fall asleep to the sounds of the bush and are pampered with the warm-hearted service that embodies the soul of Africa.
Sharing borders with the renowned Thornybush and neighbouring the famous Kruger National Park, guests are invited to experience the exhilaration of Big 5 sightings or take part in some special interest safaris, such as walking or birding around the beautiful bushveld of Guernsey Private Nature Reserve.

Ngama is an intimate safari lodge with six modern, spacious tented chalets, designed after classic safari tents, but with all the modern amenities.
Our tented chalets have been designed to take advantage of their beautiful natural setting, while ensuring guests can enjoy plenty of privacy. Each tented chalet has its own en-suite bathroom with a bath, separate shower, an outside shower for those wanting a more natural bush wash, and a private deck.
The main lodge area is a comfortable place to relax and enjoy a drink or good book while admiring the birdlife around the waterhole, while the sun deck around the pool in the lodge area is the perfect place for those who just want to sit back, relax and enjoy the African sun.
Dinner and breakfast are enjoyed outside on one of the decks or around the fire on a chilly winters night. Our boma creates a truly memorable atmosphere, where guests enjoy dinner while taking in the sounds of the African bush. "The food, both breakfasts and dinners, were all delicious and beautifully presented. The boma dinner experience, lit by paraffin lamps under a starry sky, was exceptional. Some stunning photos were taken. A morning walk in the bush with Devin, who's immense knowledge of the flora and fauna is commendable, is highly recommended.Cellphone and WiFi signal are currently limited, which may be an issue for those who need to be connected at all times...."

"We expected more from Ngama tented camp. The host, Devon, was very friendly and tried to assist us in every way. The accommodation is not like presented on the website! The tents was not very well maintained and had no extra blankets for those cold nights although a heater was supplied but when switched on the whole room was lit up. The food was also cold and not up to standard. Otherwise not too bad for the bush. Oh, and the main gravel road was in a terrible condition! The game drive at a nearby private reserve was excellent and highly recommended!"

"We spent 2 days at Ngama over 2013 new years eve. Devan the owner was such a lovely host and made us feel welcome and relaxed since we stepped out of the car. The chef Donald made a super memorable new years eve dinner around the boma, and the food was delicious - thank you very much!!!The tent was so private and secluded - we felt as if we were the only people in this whole Guernsey reserve - very well placed! The lodge and tent's interior in excellent, comfortable yet stylish.We would recommend Ngama for any nature lover that needs to relax, put their feet up and enjoy a break away from the busy city life!!"

"This was planned as a luxury experience in the middle of a rugged Kruger holiday. Wow, we were so excited for our one night of luxury, and it sure did exceed all our expectations.
