Ladismith Country House is situated 7km outside the town Ladismith in the Klein Karoo and nestles on the slopes of the Klein Swartberg Mountains.
It offers the ideal base between Cape Town and the Garden route, should you be traveling on the very popular Route 62.
Only four hours from Cape Town, this privately owned and managed Guest Farm is secluded, offering peaceful Country life in a special setting to ensure the discerning traveler the perfect Klein Karoo experience.
With 55 hectares of mountains and plains, Ladismith Country House is a nature lovers paradise offering wonderful bird life, a variety of fynbos, succulents and stargazing all year round.
The Manor House consists of four individually and tastefully decorated suites that provide the warmth and relaxation that only the Klein Karoo can satisfy. Each suite has its own entrance and offers a patio with direct access to the beautiful garden.
The suites offer white cotton bed linen, mosquito netting for Karoo summer nights, safes, coffee & tea making facilities, heaters and ceiling fans. All bedrooms offer air-conditioning for hot summer days.
Ladismith Country House also have a newly appointed self-catering cottage, called Paddasang. Paddasang is situated next to the guest house.
The cottage is an open plan unit, offering a fully equipped kitchen, lounge and bedroom. The bathroom has a large shower and a Victorian bath. Linen and towels are provided.
The Country House offers a heartwarming breakfast in the perfect Karoo setting. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in our dining room or on the patio while enjoying Helnas freshly baked breads and muffins with homemade preserves, jellies and jams from the farm including apricots, figs and quinces. Beautiful garden and Klein Karoo landscapes and the welcoming sound of guinea fowl, hadeda, partridge and pheasants accompany breakfasts.
Evenings are characterized by delightful candlelight dinners, using local and fresh produce, which are creatively prepared and beautifully served.
During the day, visit the famous Seweweekspoort with its many poorts and passes. Other scenic routes in the area include Groenfontein-, Kruisriver-, Huisriver- and Gamkapoort Mountain passes. Visit the historical mission station town of Amalienstein and Zoar.
Calitzdorp, the Port capital of South Africa, is a mere thirty minutes drive; Oudtshoorn with its famous ostrich farms and Cango Caves only an hours drive and George International airport only two hours away.
If you feel like exploring the town of Ladismith, there is plenty to offer. The towns friendly people will charm you. Visit Ladismith Cheese Factory with a selection of fine and delectable cheeses. Ladismith Wine Cellar offers the wine lover a great wine selection.
For the hiking enthusiast there is the famous Elandsberg mountain trail that takes you all the way to Stanleys Light or Towersig mountain trail, which takes one to Ladismiths famous landmark, Towerkop. Ladismith also have a nine-hole golf course.

"We had a very pleasant stay at Paddasang Cottage.The kitchen is extremely well equiped for self catering and the bedrooms comfortable and attractive.We had a little problem with the water pressure on the cold water for showering."
