"Leaving Cape Town in pouring rain on Saturday our expectations of a few days in the country were rather muted. It rained pretty much all the way to Macgregor but being hardy travelers we were not phased at all. Gordon welcomed us during a break in the rain fortunately and showed us to a really cosy cottage which was to be our home for the next two days. No dish tv so off we walked to a nearby Pub "Carols" where we spent the next two hours watching the Bokke klap the Welsh Dragons. Willie Le Roux jou Bliksem! A bottle of the local vino at R42 kept the two of us suitably warm. We had prebooked for Janet and Gordon to cook supper for us and this proved to be a good call as we suitably "fed up" by the end of the evening. Sharing more red wine and chatting to our hosts made for a pleasant end to a rather unexpected great day.The mother of all storms battered the cottage during the night but no leaks and the oil heater made sure we were not cold at all. Strolled through the town the next day and had lunch at Lords (voted the maker of the best Pizza in SA and must concur) which G and J had booked for us. They are just a short drive out of town but well worth the effort.The day had cleared so we visited the donkey sanctuary just outside of town for tea and scones. Well worth the effort. Good work is done by dedicated people who need support.The next morning we made our way back to the City via Robertson and after having a really nice brekkie at Rosa's in the mainstreet stocked up on wine bargains at the local wine shop.Sunshine all the way home and promised ourselves that Kulamoya is indeed a special place that needs more than one visit and that we will be back for more come summer."
