Cheers, Elisabeth RATES / QUOTE: (subject to availability): R 500 pppn, minimum 4 guests and 2 nights stay, children 2-12 50% DISCOUNTS: discounts are offered depending on season, number of guests and length of stay BOOKING RULES: We only take 1 group of guests at a time in the house, minimum charge based on 4 guests at adult rate. At peak times we reserve the right to only accept bookings for 6 guests and 3 days min. DESCRIPTION: Freestanding house on 3000m2, about 225m2 under roof, guest living area about 100m2, thatched gazebo about 30m2. Upstairs: 2 bedrooms double beds, bathroom (shower), open plan dining / lounge, fireplace, fitted kitchen, hob and LG Solar DOM (microwave, convection oven, grill), fridge/freezer, kettle, dishwasher, crockery, pots/pans, cutlery, utensils. Braai, thatched gazebo - table/chairs. Downstairs (min 5 guests): 1 bedroom, 2 double beds, 1 double sleeper couch, en-suite bathroom (bath). Parking: Undercover parking for 2 cars, lots of open parking SELF CATERING: Bring your own towels, personal hygiene items and toiletries, firewood CLEANING: pre and after included, for daily cleaning, arrange directly with guesthouse managementTV / DSTV: there is a TV in the house, we do not guarantee reception, there is a DSTV connection, please bring your own decoder PETS: We welcome dogs, we charge R 30 per day per dog plus a R 1000 refundable security deposit NON SMOKING: Strictly NON SMOKING, please do not book if any of the guests is not prepared to refrain from smoking on the premises, we have had extensive damage to duvets, carpets, floor, trees, and the house nearly burnt. Cancellation policy: from 21 to 28 days guest forfeits 50% of the deposit, from 14 to 21 days forfeit is 75%, less than 14 days forfeit full deposit. In addition to any cancellation fee that may be payable above, the booking site may charge an admin fee for processing cancellations. Breakage policy: Please inform the guesthouse management or the owners, numbers displayed in the house.

"We had a really nice stay at Hilltops. The house is well appointed with anything you could need for the weekend. It is in a great location - just a 15 minute walk to the downtown square. The house was clean and the grounds had recently been maintained. The decor is a bit outdated, but the house was comfy and easily accommodated 6 adults and 4 children."

"Loved the deck with table, chairs, braai and day bed! Loved the big yard for our animals. Loved the comfortable beds, having a dishwasher and a super microwave/convection oven and great shower. Thank you for providing us towels upon request. That should actually be standard equipment in a guesthouse. A simple TV that works would also have been nice.The agent Brian Robinson was helpful and kind. Thank you for a lovely, cosy home away from home."

"Stay at Hilltops was disappointing, expected much more for R2 250 per night!On the positive side it was sunny in the mornings and the place was neat and clean.Establishments Response:On reading this review I called the guest and asked for specifics, the guest said they did enjoy their visit but felt the prices were too high, but that they did realize that prices in Clarens are at that level. The guest mentioned that there were no towels, which is in the description online and in the message sent with each quote and that she felt that the bedlinen and crockery was not of a high enough standard. Note: it is all hospitality grade. She also repeated that the house was very clean and tidy and that Mamako, our housekeeper was friendly and always on time."

"We found the accommodation was perfect for us and we were a family of seven, three been grandparents, an the facilties was more than adequate with excelelent setting and viewing. We would definately recommend Hilltops any day."

"We enjoyed our stay at Hilltops very much. Nice and cozy around the fireplace. Clean and comfortable.
It is a beautiful house with perfect view. Can only imagine how pretty it can be in spring and summer as well.
The mountains are breath taking and we took about 2000 photo's this weekend.
Jane is an absolute darling. She is a warm and friendly person. There realy is nothing that we can complain about. We would definately tell others about Hilltops and the friendly people there.
