Guest House
Hands On Retreat is a boutique guest house in Craighall. It is close to Rosebank, Sandton and the Hyde Park Corner Shopping Centre in Johannesburg. It is back to nature here with its park-like garden, flowing lawn, abundant bird life, tall trees and its own river flowing through it.

The Apart-hotel is a popular Brazilian concept; it is both a hotel room and an apartment with a kitchenette. Guests may choose to cater for themselves using the microwave oven, refrigerator and other conveniences provided. We also cater for lunches and dinners by arrangement.

We have six Apart-hotel units available, each with its own private garden entrance, en-suite bathroom with a bath and shower, and kitchenette with a granite counter, refrigerator and microwave oven. All our rooms have queen-size beds, underfloor heating, mini safes and flat-screen TVs with Netflix channel. The Premium units feature large Spa baths and double showers, making it ideal for that special anniversary, wedding and honeymoon.

We encourage our guests to make use of the lounge, veranda and patio areas. We are a non-smoking establishment, but guests are welcome to smoke in the garden. We also have secure off-street parking and a guard that is on duty 24 hours per day. Business travellers can recharge and recover in our tranquil surroundings. We offer the most modern of amenities including Wi-Fi Internet access. We offer complimentary neck and shoulder massages late in the afternoon to welcome you home.

The Hands On Retreat blends into the natural surroundings. The outdoor Jacuzzi bath is housed in its own shelter and overlooks the river. The treatment rooms and steam capsule are situated on the riverbank, under the tall trees. Weather permitting, we also offer pamper treatments in the garden and on the patio, which rejuvenate the tired body and mind, and are tailor-made to suit the individual and couple.

Guests have access to both sides of the river to enjoy the abundant bird life, to meditate or just relax and enjoy nature at one of the many rest sites dotted around the garden.
