Overview
Situated in the lush Riebeek Valley, only one hour from Cape Town, 1881 Guest House at Shiraz Estate traces its heritage back to 1881 when the Laubscher family originally farmed tobacco on the Vlakfontein Estate. This homestead provided for spacious rooms, high ceilings, and everything else that was regarded as essential for comfortable living in those days. Time passed and a Shiraz vineyard was established where some of the best wines in the country were produced.

The manor house has been restored to its former glory, with great care taken to preserve the big Oregon pine ceiling beams, original windows and doors and the classic loft. Enjoy the charm of yesteryear in your renovated bedroom and the luxury of a modern en-suite bathroom, or relax in the swimming pool and garden area. In addition to the Old World charm, we will pamper you with a scrumptious continental breakfast.

The Manor House consists of five newly renovated double bedrooms; each combined with the luxury of a modern en-suite bathroom and its own unique attractions and features. All guests have free access to the tranquil swimming pool, patio, gazebo and kitchen. Each room comes standard with two single beds that is pushed together, a bedside light, a cupboard, a shower, a basin, toilet and bidet. Three bedrooms are conveniently located on the ground floor, with two rooms leading directly onto the patio and swimming pool - one of which has its own romantic fireplace. The third bedroom is located inside the house and is ideal for those wishing to escape the morning sun.

A further two bedrooms are available on the more secluded second floor. Both rooms are designed with traditional wooden flooring and loft roofing - one of which is equipped, in addition to the standard shower, with its own romantic antique bathtub. One room overlooks the swimming pool, whilst the other offers a view of the magnificent Kasteelberg Mountain.
